Val Jeffery
In her previous life Val worked at Tandem Computers Executive Briefing Center and got interested in TV during filming of a segment about booking a customer visit. After retiring she found out about ‘The Better Part’ TV group when the group was transitioning from analog to digital in 2001. Fellow member, Ernie Piini, took her under his wing and talked her into hosting a program for him and she was hooked. Her husband, Gordon, bought her an iMac to encourage her to edit, since then she has become a prolific Producer, Host and Editor having made in excess of 50 programs. “I love to feature topics to touch people’s lives and make a difference and am fortunate to have had so many wonderful guests” she says. Topics she picks are very varied and her passion is to tell her guests’ stories well. Topics include everything from Garlic Festival chefs for a bit of humor to the serious subject of Alzheimer’s. And, a local doctor volunteering his time to give people the gift of sight.
“If only one of my programs has touched someone’s life or helped them in any way, then I am truly happy and blessed.” she says. Val is an award-winning producer with more than 30 awards under her belt, however she is quick to point out that it is a team effort…. She also volunteers to crew for other members’ shows too numerous to mention.
