Celebrating Our Work Through Encore and ShortFest

Encore 2024, this year’s Cupertino TV Productions’ encore presentations of our shows is now in our rear view mirror. Encore 2024 was celebrated on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Cupertino Senior Center. You are in for a treat! It was wonderful hosting world-renowned Ikebana Master, Ms. Fusako Hoyrup, at our first post-Covid Encore festival. Besides a presentation of our much-viewed and liked ‘The Making of an Ikebana Master’, Ms. Fusako did a live demonstration of Ikebana arrangements at the Cupertino Senior Center. Beautiful-costumed attendees brought their love for Ikebana and Ms. Fusako and enjoyed the special screening of the show and the live demonstration. Ms. Fusako dazzled the attendees with great Ikebana arrangements in a live demonstration. The speeches, the explanations behind the Ikebana arrangements, the use of exotic and edible beauty, Jade Peppers, Persimmons, Okra… We loved it it all!

On May 6, 2025, we held our first ShortFest, a festival of short films designed to encourage our newest members to dip their feet with making 2-4 minutes long short films using editing softwares of their choice. We had 15 entries! Many members could not participate because they were busy with bigger full-length projects. Next time. Jerry Oliver spearheaded this first ShortFest and it was a resounding success. The shorts were on all kinds of topics including travelogues, birding, a special fashion exhibition, a sound animation, music videos that fleshed out the lyrics.
